Women Fashion Designers of India


Women have gained name and fame in Indian fashion industry. In a conservative country like India it was tough for women in initial days to present themselves in front of the world. But slowly and gradually women have started taking part in the fashion industry. Today many popular women fashion designers can be seen showing their latent and skills. They are not only popular in India but throughout the world.


Bhanu Athaiya
Bhanu Athaiya is an elite fashion designer of India. She is a costume designer of many Bollywood movies. Bhanu has worked with stars like Ashutosh Gowariker, Guru Dutt, Raj Kapoor and Yash Chopra.
Ritu Beri
Ritu Beri is an international fashion designed but she is based in New Delhi, India. The popular Indian fashion designer is known for her perfection and immaculate works. She has also written some books on fashion industry and about her experience in it.
Kavita Bhartiya

She has not taken any formal training in fashion designing, but she is the 1st Indian fashion designer to launch an international brand at Paris Fashion Week. She also loves modern and traditional Indian ways of designing comprising different embroideries and texturing.

Nidhi Yasha
Nidhi Yasha is a popular costume designer of India. She designs costumes for various TV serials like Mahabharat, Buddha, etc.
Tina Vincent
Tina Vincent is another famous Indian fashion designer who mainly designs plus size women’s dresses. She inaugurated her first store namely XXL Tina Vincent in Chennai in 2000.
